One of the local arts of West Sumatra province is randai.
randai played in groups and form a circle, randai combination of art song, music, dance, drama and self defense arts. players stepped slowly while telling a story in song form in multiple turns, the stories are usually drawn based on real life in the community
.among others the story a cindua mato, ganggun nan pemeran Tongga etc. The main actor in charge of conveying a story protagonist can amount to one or two more, it depends stories presented and the main character surrounded by other members who graced the arts of randai.
